Get Paid

Your phone is your payment terminal. Get Paid is a free app by Vipps MobilePay that lets you accept payments — Vipps, MobilePay, and cards — right from your phone. No terminal, no extra hardware, no monthly fee. You only pay when you get paid.

Built for small and medium-sized businesses, organizations, sports clubs, and freelancers across Norway, Denmark, and Finland, Get Paid brings every payment method into one app. Whether you run a café, teach yoga, organize a charity fundraiser, or sell at a market — Get Paid gives you everything you need to accept payments on the spot or at a distance.

Why Get Paid

How it works

Set up

  1. Make sure you have a VM Number — Get Paid requires a VM Number (Vippsnummer / MobilePay Nummer) with Open Amount. If you don't have one yet, order it in the business portal.
  2. Download the app — Get Paid is available on App Store (iOS 16+) and Google Play (Android 6.0+).
  3. Log in with an activation code — An administrator generates the code in the business portal under "User accesses" → "Get Paid app". Enter your name and the code, and you're in.

Take a payment

  1. Open Get Paid and click the "Get Paid"-button.
  2. Enter amount and optional description — What amount are you requesting, do you want to add a message to your customer, which will show up in your reports.
  3. Choose how you want to get paid — Vipps/MobilePay (QR or payment request), card (Tap to Pay).
  4. The customer pays — They scan the QR code, tap their card, or approve the request in their app.
  5. You see it instantly — The payment shows up in your live transaction feed with a notification.

Accept every payment type

Vipps and MobilePay

Customers pay by scanning a QR code you show on your phone or by responding to a payment request. The payment goes through in seconds, straight into your VM Number transaction overview.

Card payments (Tap to Pay)

Turn your phone into a card terminal. Customers tap their Visa or Mastercard (contactless) on your phone to pay. No separate hardware, no terminal rental — same price as Open Amount transactions. Works with Visa and Mastercard, some restrictions on issuing country apply.

Payment requests

Send a payment request directly to a customer's phone number. They get a notification in Vipps or MobilePay, review the amount, and pay in one tap. Great for:

  • Deposits before a job starts
  • No-shows and cancellations
  • Payments after a service is done
  • Phone orders and remote sales
  • Outstanding amounts

The customer has 48 hours to complete the payment. You're notified the moment it goes through.

Shopping Basket - coming soon

Create a product list with set prices and let customers self-serve their payment. They pick what they want in the app and pay the total. Ideal for events, kiosks, pop-ups, or any situation where you have a fixed menu or price list.

Open Amount

Let the customer enter the amount, or set it yourself in the app. Use it when the total varies — tips, donations, custom quotes, or when you simply tell the customer what to pay.

Kiosk at a sports event Set up a Shopping Basket with your menu. Grant access to volunteers. Accept Vipps, MobilePay, and card from the same phone.

Pricing

Get Paid is included free with your VM Number — no monthly fee, no terminal cost. You pay the same transaction rate as Open Amount for all payment types, including card.

Business portal companion

Get Paid works alongside the Vipps MobilePay business portal. Use the portal for:

  • Detailed reporting and transaction history
  • Refunds and dispute handling
  • Account and agreement management
  • Generating activation codes for staff

Payments made through Get Paid appear in the portal alongside your other VM Number transactions.

Get started

  1. Order a VM Number (if you don't already have one) in the business portal.
  2. Download Get Paid from the App Store or Google Play.
  3. Generate an activation code in the business portal under "User accesses" → "Get Paid app".
  4. Open the app, enter your name and code, and start accepting payments.
