Use Shopping Basket with card payments¶
Shopping Basket in Get Paid is for sales where the products and prices are already known. Add the items, confirm the total, and let the customer pay by card from your phone.
It is close to a point-of-sale flow, but simpler: no separate terminal, no large checkout setup, and no need for the customer to build the basket themselves.
Watch the flow¶
When to use it¶
Use Shopping Basket in Get Paid when you have fixed products, fixed prices, or a short menu:
- A café, kiosk, or market stall with items staff can add quickly.
- An event stand with tickets, food, drinks, or merchandise.
- A shop or service counter with a focused product list.
- A pop-up sale where you want card payments without setting up a full POS system.
If the amount changes every time, Open Amount may be faster. If the customer is not with you, use a Payment Request.
How it works¶
- Open Get Paid and choose the right sales unit.
- Click the Get Paid button in the bottom right of the screen.
- Add the products the customer wants to buy.
- Choose card payment.
- Let the customer tap their mobile or card on your phone.
- Check the sale in your overview once the payment is completed.
Tips for a smooth checkout¶
- Keep the product list short enough for staff to find items quickly.
- Use product names staff and customers already recognize.
- Update prices before busy periods, events, or seasonal changes.
- Choose the correct sales unit before taking payments.
- Use the sales overview to check that completed payments are visible after the sale.
